An annual fun-filled literacy event to celebrate Dr. Seuss’ Birthday for children and families sponsored by the Early Childhood Education college students as part of a service learning project. Every child receives a goody bag, a hardback Dr. Seuss book, and refreshments. Children can listen to Dr. Seuss stories being read, participate in numerous activities indoors and outside the library. Thing 1, Thing 2, the Grinch and the Cat and the Hat will be available to interact with the children, and the children can have their picture made with the special characters from Dr. Seuss books. This event is free and open to the public. However, all children must be accompanied by an adult. This program is sponsored by the Cleveland State Community College Early Childhood Department and the Kiwanis Club of Cleveland.
