The Great American Eclipse

Ocoee Country is the place to be on Monday, Aug. 21, 2017, as day turns to night during a rare total solar eclipse.  This will be the first eclipse to sweep across the nation from coast-to-coast in 99 years and is expected to last over 2 minutes!

The campgrounds and cabins are filling up, so make your plans now and join us as we celebrate this spectacular event! Chamber members, TN State Parks and others will host special events and activities leading up to totality. Currently, the following events are scheduled:

The Chamber is gearing up for the “Sun & Moon Fest” on August 20th & 21st.  The festival will begin on Sunday evening at 7pm, with a bonfire, smores and star-gazing in historic Reliance, TN. Monday (Eclipse Day!) brings the actual family-friendly viewing event beginning at 12 pm with story-telling, free special “eclipse glasses” and more!  The total eclipse will begin at 2:33 pm and will last for 2 minutes and 19 seconds at our location.

Savannah Oaks Winery is planning an eclipse viewing party.

Adventures Unlimited is planning an eclipse rafting trip along the Middle Ocoee River with a space-themed dinner, a family-friendly social, live music, giveaways, and tent camping after the trip.
